Wing Mural in Jail Visitation
As I was working with social worker, Allison Hoekstra on our project together in Dane County Jail, she brought up making wings in the visitation area for kids to pose in front of when they visit their parents. Loving the idea, I designed something per her request to be bright, and added a contrast background to make it pop! To my surprise, while painting I had lawyers commenting on how beautiful it was, and the realization this mural brings so much more light to this space was apparent before I even saw the pictures. The first time I was sent some images, it brought tears to my eyes. The joy on their faces say it all, and I feel wonderful to have helped make that happen.
Thank you to Allison for your passion for your work, and to Dane County Sheriff’s Office for being open and bringing this mural to your space.
