INHERITANCE Mural Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Audifax Madison Muralist introduces the meaning of INHERITANCE, the Madison Wisconsin Mural in Reynolds Park for Madison Water Utility Department and Tenney Lapham Neighborhood Association.

It’s a new piece of public art that will enrich the Tenney Lapham neighborhood and inspire our entire city. This project is a testament to the power of collaboration and community. It represents a unique partnership across numerous city of Madison departments and underscores our shared commitment to public beautification. Out mayor is very excited about this stunning addition to this particular neighborhood. It beautifies the space and serves as a vibrant inspiration for our artists and for the future of public art in Madison. Finally, this mural would not exist without the incredible talent and commitment of the artist, Audifax. We extend our heartfelt thanks to you for your efforts, just your exceptional skills, and I must say your spirit. That’s something that really really connects to me.
— Dr. Linda Vakunta - Deputy Mayor for City of Madison

In honor of the mural in Reynolds Park being hung, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held. Multiple partners spoke about the in-depth process of how this Madison mural came to be. I was honored to be among city representatives; including Dr. Linda Vakunta, from the City of Madison Mayor’s office and Marcus Pearson from Madison Water Utility. Huge thank you again to Mary Lang Sollinger and Patricia Kelly from Tenney Lapham Neighborhood Association for making this possible. Also, thank you to Ryan McCormick from the Tenney Lapham Neighborhood Association for the introduction and your involvement as well. More images and information here.

On the Utilities behalf, this is a really exciting project for us because it’s very unique. It’s the first of its kind. We’ve never had a mural on any of our facilities, we have about 30 to 40 throughout the city and we’ve never had a mural or art pice on there, which is actually pretty incredible because the Utility actually started back in 1882.
This mural is obviously a great addition to an already vibrant Tenney- Lapham neighborhood. Not only is this a great addition to the Tenney-Lapham neighborhood, this is a great addition to the city as a whole. I have no doubt that people from around the city and throughout the city and beyond will come and view this mural.
